Los Angeles Times "Trutanich presents a strong vision for the office, with tough prosecution of violence tempered by a real-world recognition that gang crime must be answered with alternatives for youth ... we believe the best package of civil and criminal know-how, and the right combination of savvy and arm's length distance from City Hall politics, are offered by Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich. The Times endorses Trutanich for city attorney." |
LA Daily News “The next city attorney needs to be someone with superior legal experience and expertise - without a lot of political baggage. We believe Carmen Trutanich is the right choice. As a practicing lawyer, Trutanich has recent courtroom experience and would be better prepared to fight the many lawsuits filed against the city each year. Trutanich…could make a fresh start as the people's lawyer and ensure the City Attorney's Office is tough on crime, smart in defending the city, and responsive to the quality of life issues that can make or break communities.” |

California Leader Magazine "Nuch is the kind of guy who doesn't do anything unless he is going to do it right and do it to win, and now seventeen months later he is winning. He just received the shock and awe surprise endorsement from the Los Angeles Times a few hours ago and the next nine hours are a glimpse into the life of a man on a mission. The election is on March 3rd. When Nuch wins, Los Angeles will have a REAL best friend at City Hall. It's going to be a big hammer." |

Daily Breeze "Trutanich, by comparison, could make a fresh start as the people's lawyer and ensure the city attorney's office is tough on crime, smart in defending the city, and responsive to the quality-of-life issues that can make or break communities. We encourage Angelenos to vote for him on Tuesday." |

Metropolitan News Company “A change is needed, and there can be no doubt as to which candidate has the determination and skill to revive and reform the office. It’s attorney Carmen Trutanich. Trutanich is a civil practitioner; he’s been a prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office. He has perspective, knowledge, and concrete plans. We believe he can do the job with distinction. It is rare for this newspaper to make an endorsement other than in a judicial race. Vigorously, we urge the election of Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich as Los Angeles city attorney on May 19.” |
League of Humane Voters (LOHV) In spite of the Weiss campaign’s attempts to damage Mr. Trutanich’s reputation with half truths, LOHV met with Mr. Trutanich. We were impressed with the respect he gave us, our issues and his genuine affection for animals. We came away believing he is a candidate to fight for and donate to if you can. He has no record on our issues because he has never held public office. That is an omission that we believe needs to be corrected. Mr. Trutanich has two rescue dogs, one he got off the Freeway and great personal risk. Try that sometime. He also owns a horse he saved from slaughter. |
